Bhubaneswar: Due to the derailment of a goods train near Bhubaneswar Railway Station today evening, the movement of about 24 passenger trains has been affected in the route. The goods train was going towards Vizianagaram from Chakradharpur. Five wagons of the goods train derailed about 500 meters away from the station. According to railway sources, work is in full swing to restore the route as early as possible.

Bhubaneswar: In a sensational twist in software engineer Sweta Utkal Kumari suicide case, her brother today alleged that her boyfriend Soumyajeet Mohapatra was threatening her to make photos of their intimate moments viral, for which she took the extreme step.

“Soumyajeet had kept photos of intimate moments between him and my sister. He was demanding money from her by threatening her to make the pics viral if she didn’t agree to his demands,” said Sweta’s brother.

“They met each other in 2018 while both were working with an IT major in Bhubaneswar. It was an one-sided love affair from Soumyajeet’s side for the first 7-8 months. He then threatened my sister that he would end his life if she didn’t love him. This is how the relationship came into existence. We came to know about it after 1.5 year,” the deceased’s brother said.

Levelling similar allegations against Soumyajeet, Sweta’s father said, “He had quit job for pursuing MBA. He then started extorting money from my daughter, over which she died by suicide.”

“I had gone to Soumyajeet’s house to meet his family members for his marriage with my daughter. However, they harassed me and demanded Rs 30 lakh for the marriage. I had expressed my inability to give them the amount,” Sweta’s father added.
Sweta’s family lodged a complaint with Chandrasekharpur police, on the basis of which a case was lodged under Section 306 (abetment of suicide) of the IPC.

Soumyajeet, who hails from Sambalpur and works with a private company in the city, will be questioned by police soon, reports said.

Sweta was found hanging inside her apartment in Sailashree Vihar area here, yesterday. Police have reportedly seized a diary from the house, in which it has been mentioned that she was in a relationship with Soumyajeet.

The software engineer hailed from Bhadrak and was working as a Technology Analyst with Infosys at Bhubaneswar

Though the reason behind the death was yet to be known, Why she took the extreme step of ending her life by hanging herself.

Bhubaneswar: A woman commits suicide in an apartment in the Shailashrivihar area of Bhubaneswar. The dead woman is identified as Sweta Utkal Kumari and her house is in the Bhadrak district. Sweta was working as a Software Engineer for a reputed company in Bhubaneswar, the cause of death is unclear.
