Bhubaneswar: The 15th Anand Festival of Odisha Dance Institute Kalingayan Tautrikam was recently held at the Odisha Research Centre, Guru Kelucharan Mahapatra Auditorium. The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Mr. Yuvraj, former MLA of Khadpada, Mr. Siddharth Shekhar Singh, and Trustees of the Institute, Mr. Pathuman Mishra and Mrs. Pupita Mishra.
Eminent Odisha dancer and choreographer, Dr. Snehaprabha Samantharai, and renowned vocalist and music director, Mr. Prashant Kumar Padhi, were invited as guests of honor and were felicitated with Anandshree honors by the institution. Following the tradition of Puja Puja, the students of the institute garlanded Gurdwara.
The joyous celebration commenced with the Ganesh bandana program and concluded with the Sambalwari folk dance, accompanied by many excellent Odissi dances. The artistes of the institute performed various dance forms such as Malavehar, Gurubandana, Batu, Pallavi, Bande Utkal Janani, Ahe Nil Shaila, Shivtandab, Shivapanchakharastotra, Laghunartya, and Folk Dance under the dance direction of gurus Pushpita Mishra, Mita Das, and Tardhana Nayak. The audience greatly enjoyed Radhakrishna’s romantic dance drama “Saj Kanj Nayana,” starring choreographer Sriyashree Pati.
Mrs. Tandralasa Das coordinated and conducted the program. It is worth mentioning that the Anand festival and Bharatamuni honoring ceremony, organized by this institution, has been recognizing and honoring eminent Indian personalities in the fields of dance, music, art, and literature for the past few years.
