The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is accelerating its campaign for south expansion. To give impetus to this campaign, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will reach Bhubaneswar on Sunday night. A large crowd gathered outside Bhubaneswar airport to welcome Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Amit Shah is visiting Bhubaneswar for the first time after becoming the Union Home Minister. Amit Shah last reached Odisha during the 2019 elections. During this he addressed a public meeting in Bhubaneswar.
The Union Home Minister will attend several programs along with Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday.
The walls of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack are lined with posters, banners and placards of Shah. Amit Shah will begin his tour after the darshan of Lord Siva at Lingaraj temple in Bhubaneswar. He will then travel to Cuttack to visit the birthplace of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in the Oriya market. The Home Minister will also conduct a road show from Oriya Bazar to Indoor Stadium. At the stadium, he will participate in the 75th-anniversary celebrations of Odia daily newspaper ‘Prajatantra’. This newspaper was founded by former Chief Minister Hare Krishna Mahtab. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will also participate in the program and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) workers have also made preparations for his grand welcome.
Mr. Shah Will be involved in many programs that include meetings of the core committee of the party’s state unit at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters in Cuttack. Later, he will release the Odisha edition of ‘ModiET20: Dreams Meet Delivery’, a book on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure as the Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001 till the next 20 years. Shah will leave from Odisha on Monday night.
BJP’s state unit president Sami Mohanty said that “there is a lot of enthusiasm among the party workers in the state”. The ruling BJD and opposition Congress in Odisha are also keeping a close watch on Shah’s visit.
