Afghanistan: The Taliban government has ordered female news anchors to cover their faces while performing the news show. The Ministry of Information and Culture of the Taliban government has called it a final decision.

Earlier, the Taliban had issued many Tughlaqi decrees that snatched women’s freedom. These include decrees that women should not come out of the house alone, cover the whole body except the eyes and ban the education of girls.

According to media reports, the Taliban has sent this order to all media organizations. In this order, women media persons and news anchors have been told to come with their face covered. If any woman media person opposes this, then strict action will be taken against her. Taliban’s media organization Tolo News has given information about this order of Taliban.

Earlier, Taliban chief Hibatullah Akhundzada had publicly decreed women in Afghanistan to wear the burqa. It was released by Taliban officials during an event in Kabul. Officials said that women should wear chadori i.e. head-to-toe burqa. It is customary and respectable.

In Afghanistan, the Taliban has also ordered women to stay in their homes by pasting posters. As soon as the Taliban came to power, the education of girls was stopped. Against this, when women entered the field, the girl students were allowed to go to school till the sixth standard.
