CEC said, information is not available on how many Chinese soldiers were killed in the clash with Indian troops in Galvan Valley.

New Delhi: The Central Information Commission says that information on how many Chinese soldiers were killed in a clash with Indian troops in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley two years ago is not available and the data is limited to the Indian Army. The CIC, in a recent order, has refused to reveal the number of casualties of Chinese military forces in the night of June 15 and 16, 2020 skirmishes under Right to Information (RTI).


The army has refused to give any such information saying that it is third party information. It is exempted from providing information of a personal nature under Section VIII(1)(j) of the ITI. The Army also cited Section (1)(a) to refuse to share this information. Under this, the information of country which may affect the integrity and sovereignty of the country is not shared.
