Mo School Campaign 16.31 crore approved and an additional 887 crore budget allocated

Bhubaneswar: The 28th executive council meeting of the ‘Mo School Campaign‘ was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Shri Satyabrata Sahu, Principal Secretary of Schools and Mass Education. The meeting, which was held in Virtual Mode, The ministry approved projects worth Rs 16.31 crore for 1,238 schools in 25 districts of Odisha.

In the last month, 18,000 alumni have joined the ‘Mo School Campaign‘ and also donated Rs 5.43 crore for the development of their respective schools. The highest donation collected from the alumni of Baleshwar estimated approximately 1.61 crore

This month, a record number of alumni from all district have joined hands with their respective schools to extend a helping hand for the overall development of the school. The first-to-fifth-grade education program, adopted by the foster school, is scheduled to meet with mentors and partners in 1,272 schools by October. Mr. Sahu, the Principal Secretary, has directed that funds be provided to the remaining schools in the ‘Mo School’ campaign.

According to the government’s decision, for the first time in the ‘Mo School Campaign’, the alumni joint program has been launched in high schools while the government has decided to expedite the ‘Mo School’ program in all the subsidized high schools in the state. A seminar on alumni was recently held at BJP High School in Bhubaneswar. It was attended by Mr. Satyabrata Sahu, the Principal Secretary, Schools and Mass Education , who called for making ‘Mo School’ a successful campaign in high schools such as primary, upper primary and high schools. Along with this, the alumni of the BJP provided financial assistance of Rs 2.17 lakh. After discussions with current students, developmental work on the school will be undertaken to address their needs.

It was discussed at the meeting that ‘Mo School’ would provide all kinds of support to strengthen the educational system in the high schools included in the ‘5-T’ High School Transformation Program. The second phase of the state government’s’ 5 ‘T-High School Transformation Program’ is about to begin. More than 10,000 alumni have been recruited from 753 schools adopted this month to expedite the school’s development process

The meeting was attended by the State Project Director, Director OSEPA, Director Secondary Education, Director, Primary Education, Director, Divisional Additional Administrative Secretary, Additional Secretary and Divisional Financial Adviser, Chief Executive Officer.

Bhubaneswar recorded 267 new Covid-19 cases; with 3,495 Active cases

Bhubaneswar: As many as 267 new Covid-19 positive cases have been reported from Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) area in Odisha in the last 24 hours, informed the BMC on Thursday.

The State Capital recorded 111 Covid-19 positive cases yesterday and 152 cases the day before.

Out of the 267 fresh cases in the State Capital, 84 cases were detected among quarantined people and 183 cases were reported from local contacts, said BMC.

With this, the Covid-19 tally of the BMC area has increased to 1,14,018.

The civic body also said that as many as 144 people of the city recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours.

To date, a total of 1,09,474 Covid-19 patients of the BMC area have been cured while 1,028 people succumbed to the virus. 

The active cases of the city currently stand at 3495, said the BMC.

Odisha Vidhan Sabha Session from 1st December 2021

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Assembly from 1st December. The winter session will begin on 1st December will run until 31st December. This winter session has 26 working days and 5 holidays.

The Legislative Secretariat issued a formal notice. According to the notification, the session will be held for a total of 24 days. The holidays are December 5, 12, 18 and 26, and December 25 is a holiday. The session will focus on issues such as Mamita Meher’s murder and sexual misconduct.

Odisha Cabinet Approved 33 proposals in 32 minutes

Bhubaneswar: An important meeting of the state cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, was held in virtual mode this evening. The state cabinet approved a total of 33 agendas in just 32 minutes.

According to Odisha Now sources, Odisha state cabinet meeting was scheduled to be held in virtual mode at 5.30 pm on Wednesday. The Chief Minister was briefed about the timing of the meeting. The Cabinet Office was informed in writing this afternoon that 24 agendas would be brought to the Cabinet meeting, but the number of agendas increased to 33.

Bhubaneswar: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today lashed out at the state government and the chief minister Mr. Patnaik over the Mamata murder case. Attending the misrana Parva, Minister Dharmendra Pradhan directly targeted the Chief Minister.

“During the Corona period, the Modi government distributed 5 kg of Rice and Dal per person across the country for about a year and a half,” he said. Modi has provided free housing, food, electricity, gas toilets, and drinking water.

There are more than 113 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country. More than 80 crore people have already received 2 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. However, there are more than 2.5 million vaccines available in various medical centers in Odisha. Odisha is a backward state in terms of vaccination.

Many welfare schemes have been launched by PM Narendra Modi for the poor, farmers, backward people, and tribals. However, the schemes are not reaching the intended beneficiaries of the odisha state, said Dharmendra Pradhan.

New Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY)

Deogarh, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched the distribution of smart health cards under the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) for people of Deogarh district on Saturday.

According to an official release of the CMO, as many as 2.70 lakh people will get smart health cards in the district. So far, about 10 lakh people have already received such cards.

The release too informed that 10,657 beneficiaries have already got benefits out of the State Government scheme. They have together got health services worth Rs 20 crore, it claimed.

Besides launching health card distribution, the Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for a 300-bed hospital in the district. The hospital will come up at a total cost of Rs 115 crore.

On the occasion, Patnaik too informed that as many 87 Government high schools will be included in the 5T programme.

CM Naveen Patnaik stressed upon linking farmers directly to market and removing intermediaries

Bhubaneswar: On Friday, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik stressed upon linking farmers directly to market and removing intermediaries to improve farmers’ income.

Inaugurating the Odisha Agri Conclave 2021 on virtual platform, the Chief Minister said that the emphasis of the State Government is to enhance the income of farmers. So the dynamics of the market must be responded

“We need to streamline their connectivity to the aggregators and processors to play the role as producers.  We need to remove intermediaries who don’t add value to the supply chain,” he added.

Stating that the State has a conducive policy environment, the chief minister said, “We aspire to become the investment destination of choice by continuously creating and delivering outstanding opportunities for business growth, fostering all round socio-economic development for the state and its people. Agriculture and allied sectors of the state is now open to national & global players,” he emphasized.

Stating that the Agri Conclave 2021 has been organized to link farmers of Odisha to organized national market, the chief minister invited the top agri-business leaders to be partners in scripting the growth story of Agribusiness in Odisha.

The initiative has helped in providing State’s traditional, indigenous and nutritious products support to get prominence in global market.
