The advanced model of the Akash missile was tested from launch pad No. 3 of the Chandipur Missile Test Center at 4.45 pm today (27-9-2021). The missile, capable of targeting the sky from the surface made with indigenous know-how by DRDO, has a range of 40 km. Scientists at the Department of Defense are reviewing data collected through radar during the test. It can use nuclear weapons.


The Akash NG missile was first tested on January 25. The second test was conducted on March 23, while the third and fourth tests were conducted on July 21. It is targeted to be included in the Indian Army by 2023. It has the ability to detect and destroy enemy missiles in particular. Earlier, the missile had a range of 30 km.
