State govt developing mechanism to digitize land record database: CM


 Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today said the State government is developing a hassle-free and seamless mechanism with introduction of technology and digitization of land record database.

Speaking at the 38th Annual Conference of Odisha State Revenue Field Officers’ Association, the Chief Minister said high speed connectivity has been provided to as many as 100 tehsils in the State and the remaining will be covered by the end of financial year 2017-18. “There have been changes in policy for faster disposal of mutation cases”, he said. Patnaik said the State Revenue Field Officers are at the cutting edge of revenue administration having direct link with the service recipients. “Solving land issues is quite a challenge and often leads to litigations”, he said. The Chief Minister advised the officers to deal with such issues with absolute transparency, diligence and sensitivity.

Patnaik said his government is people’s government and its objective is to bring faster development in the State and provide effective service to the people. “Every government official has a duty to serve the people with efficiency, commitment and humility”, he said. The Chief Minister urged the members of the association to follow the principles of 3T-Transparency, Teamwork and Technology. He said this shall result in transformation in the lives of people. Patnaik said the State government has taken various steps to improve the service prospects of the Revenue Field Officers’ cadre. He added that the promotional avenues to Odisha Revenue Service have also been expanded. “We are aware of your demands and will consider these with a sympathetic attitude”, the Chief Minister told the officers.
