Honda, Bhubaneswar RTO modernise Traffic Training Park

Taking one step further in promotion of road safety in Bhubaneswar, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. has modernised and revamped the Road Safety and Traffic Training Park near Chandrashekharpur police station in the Capital City of Odisha.

Since adopting the traffic park in 2014, in collaboration with RTO Bhubaneswar, Honda 2-Wheelers India has educated around 90,000 people on road safety in the city. Taking its commitment to promote the cause even further, Minoru Kato, President and CEO, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. and Sanjay Kumar Behara, Regional Transport Officer on Wednesday inaugurated the all new modernised traffic training park, Dream Riding (exclusively for women) and Safe Braking Contest.

Speaking on the occasion, Kato said: “Honda’s Road Safety and Traffic Training Park in Bhubaneswar has already trained around 90,000 people. The recent addition of Smart Classroom & Dream Riding is a significant step towards meeting our commitment of making Safe Riding an everyday habit of all 2-Wheeler riders.”
“Braking is an integral part of Safe Riding. The Safe Braking Contest conducted here in association with Regional Transport Office of Bhubaneswar is a key initiative to educate people on correct methods of braking in a safe and effective manner,” he added.
The all new traffic training park in Bhubaneswar now gets a more modern feel with Honda’s smart classroom. Here, participants can learn valuable insights on the basics of riding. This includes a theory class followed by a practical session on Honda’s proprietary Riding Trainer.
Honda 2-wheelers India has also introduced a new Dream Riding initiative exclusively for women in Bhubaneswar. Here Honda’s skilled female instructors train females to become liberated and safe two-wheeler riding in just 4 hours in a safe and controlled environment absolutely free of cost!
To learn riding under Honda’s “Dream Riding” programme, any female above 18 years of age simply has to drop an e-mail with her details to or call+91- 84558-70396. Honda's safety instructors will get in touch and schedule their session as per their convenience from Monday to Saturday.
Honda also conducted a unique Safe Braking Contest. The initiative educated citizens of Bhubaneswar about the importance of progressive braking. The specially designed training exercise was followed by a contest based on progressive braking module. Winners of the Safe Braking Contest were also felicitated with trophies by Kato and Behara. The interactive environment helped riders understand the importance of Combi Brake System (CBS) with Equalizer, a feature which is standard on all Honda scooters.
