Oram slams State govt for failure to provide relief for flood affected

Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram today slammed the State government for its alleged failure in carrying out relief operations properly in the flood affected areas in Kalyansinghpur block in the district.

“The relief and rescue operations were not done properly. Several flood affected people are yet to receive relief. Besides, names of some affected people are not in the list to get benefit under the relief package,” said Oram. “We will identify all the affected people and ensure they get relief soon,” the union minister added.

Oram today, visited several flood affected villages in Kalyansinghpur block such as Kumbharguda, Karpa, Panas Padar, Kadambadwara Sahi and Sanabamna Sahi.

Incessant rains and an unprecedented rise in the water level of Nagabali and Kalyani Rivers have triggered flash floods in the district last month submerging over 70 per cent area of the Kalyansinghpur block.
