Gajviye’s suspension revoked

The Home Department of State Government today revoked the suspension order served on former Kendrapara Superintendent of Police Satish Gajbhiye.

Gajbhiye was suspended for committing excesses during an agitation against self-styled godman Sarathi Baba in Kendrapara on August 07, 2015. He is also alleged to have violated service rules.

The controversial police official was entangled in yet another hullabaloo over purchasing vast stretch of landed property in his spouse’s name in Gop block of Puri district. Gajbhiye had singled out a lawyer among the protestors and had tortured him and even asked him to do sit-ups on the street. The alleged police excesses had put the Naveen Patnaik Government in a tight spot ever since the police brutalities were widely covered in both print and electronic media.

Précis 2017
From asking his party men to ‘live a simple life and serve the people’ to taunting the BJP for its ‘crocodile tears’, Chief Minister and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik has not only become politically invincible, he seems to be so in the coming years too.
