Thai dancers, Odissi artistes to perform at inaugural ceremony of AAC




 Residents of the State capital will be treated to performances of Thai dancers, Odissi artistes and Bollywood celebs along with fireworks at the 22nd Asian Athletics Championship inaugural ceremony on July 6.

As per the tentative programme schedule, the two-hour colourful function will start at 6 pm and athlete will arrive at the Kalinga Stadium for the event march-past at 5 pm. The stadium gates will open for visitors at 4 pm. Tickets for the sports meet are being sold at counter 6 of the Kalinga Stadium at Rs 50 each. On the other hand, online sale of tickets are over.

Around 1,000 athletes and officials from 45 countries will participate in the July 6-9 sports event at the stadium. Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka team arrived in Bhubaneswar last night. The team has 23 athletes, including 15 male participants and eight females and 10 officials. The athletes would take part in 100, 200, 400 and 800 metre race and javelin throw.

After Bangladesh, Sri Lanka is the second visiting team that landed in the Capital city last night.
