‘Odisha Festival’ to be held in Kolkata

Coinciding with the annual Ratha Yatra of Lord Jagannath, an Odisha Festival will be held in the City of Joy from June 28 to showcase its rich heritage.

The eight-day festival will be inaugurated by West Bengal Governor Kesari Nath Tripathi.

The programme will be organised by the cultural wing of city-based Shri Jagannath Seva Samity, its president Kashi Nath Behera said today.
The finest of Odisha's performing arts - from the scintillating Odissi to pulsating tribal drums accompanying its many folk art forms - will be presented by national and international artistes, Behera said.
Flavours of Lord Jagannath's kitchen, the inimitable Pipili appliqué work and the famed Odisha handloom like Sambalpuri will be showcased at Swabhumi, where it will be held.
