CM exhorts police to use social media extensively

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today asked the Odisha Police to use social media extensively.

This comes a day after a good Samaritan tweeted the Odisha CMO about some children being kidnapped by a group of people in Phulbani. The chief minister cited the example and lauded the pro-active role of the police in nabbing the culprits. He said the police must work on public complaints received on social media platforms adding that it is imperative for police officers to get themselves acquainted with latest technology.

Patnaik asked all range DIsGP and SPs to ensure that they have their own Facebook and Twitter accounts. He said a team of efficient and tech-savvy officers should take quick steps on complaints received by people on social media platforms.

The chief minister also asked electricity department officials to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply to avoid inconvenience to people during the summer season. Notably, protests across the State against erratic power supply has become a regular affair.

From asking his party men to ‘live a simple life and serve the people’ to taunting the BJP for its ‘crocodile tears’, Chief Minister and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik has not only become politically invincible, he seems to be so in the coming years too.
