Dharmendra’s brother granted bail in Vigilance case

Conditional anticipatory bail was granted by the Orissa High Court today to Soumendra Pradhan, the elder brother of Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan, in a Vigilance case over alleged black marketing and adulteration of cooking gas by an agency in Talcher owned by him. The court has asked Soumendra to co-operate with the probe team during course of investigation, his counsel Dharanidhar Nayak said. A day after Vigilance registered a case against him and three others– his manager Rasmikanta Mohapatra, godown in-charge Nilu Sahu and Debraj Panda, Soumendra had moved the court seeking anticipatory bail on January 16.

The Vigilance department had raided Pradhan’s gas filling station in January.

From asking his party men to ‘live a simple life and serve the people’ to taunting the BJP for its ‘crocodile tears’, Chief Minister and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik has not only become politically invincible, he seems to be so in the coming years too.
