Vedanta bags Kalinga CSR Award-2016

 The Jharsuguda Unit of Vedanta Limited has won the 'Kalinga CSR Award-2016' instituted by the Institute of Quality and Environment Management Services (IQEMS) for its significant contributions in rural development across the periphery villages of area of operation.

Vedanta was awarded for its remarkable efforts in the field of community education for its unique projects like Vedanta Vidyathi Vikas Yojana (VVVY).

Vedanta Limited AGM (Corporate Affairs) Manoj Panda along with Corporate Communication Team members Shazia Rahman and Chirag Kumar Vegad received the coveted award from the chief guest of the occasion, TK Chand, CMD, Nalco at a glittering function held in Bhubaneswar on May 20.

Vedanta’s CSR footmarks in the fields of livelihood, health, infrastructure and education were lauded by the award committee. Vedanta’s CSR projects, which covers 64 villages in its periphery, has so far benefitted as many as 1.13 lakh people through its various initiatives.

IQEMS has instituted Kalinga CSR Award to recognize the outstanding contributions made by organizations in the field of CSR in Odisha.
