SBI wins Kalinga CSR Award-2016

 The Bhubaneswar Circle of State Bank of India (SBI) has won the 'Kalinga CSR Award-2016' instituted by the Institute of Quality and Environment Management Services (IQEMS) and Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE), Hyderabad.

SBI Bhubaneswar Circle Finance Officer and DGM Basabendra Mohan Ray and AGM (PR & CSB) UP Nayak received the prestigious award from Nalco CMD TK Chand at a glittering function here on Saturday.

SBI Bhubaneswar Circle has been playing the role of a responsible and responsive corporate citizen in Odisha. In the last three years, SBI has donated as many as 43 ambulances and multipurpose vehicles covering almost all districts in the State. Besides, it has also donated more than 600 computers to different schools and NGOs for technological development in the State.
During 2014-15, the Bank constructed toilets in 42 schools of most backward district of Boudh under Swachh Vidyalaya Mission. The Bank has also taken the responsibility of maintaining the toilets.
During 2015-16, SBI donated 900 wheelchairs and an equal number of stretcher trolleys to different government hospitals for the benefit of the people.
Under the Bank’s CSR activities SBI's Life Line Express, a Hospital on Wheels, was stationed at Junagarh Railway Station in Kalahandi district for 20 days in September 2016; and provided healthcare services to more than 8000 patients.
