CM felicitates Odia Nat’l film awardee

 Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today felicitated National Film awardee and Odia cine personality Sibu Prusty at the State Secretariat here.

Prusty is the recipient of 2016 National Film Award Rajat Kamal (silver lotus) from the President of India for his directed and produced English film “The Lord of the Universe” based on Lord Jagannath’s ‘Nabakalebara’. On the occasion of felicitation, the chief minister also watched the promo of awarded film “The Lord of the Universe” and lauded its presentation.

Stretching over 55 minutes, the film depicts well the whole rituals of ‘Nabakalebara’.

In his reactions after the felicitation, Prusty told media, “The title of my film is “The Lord of the Universe”. It has been awarded as the best art and culture film at the 64th National Film Festival. I have received two Rajat Kamals from the President of India as its director and producer. It elates me that I have created a film on the art and culture of my birth place even though my work place is Mumbai. I am very glad that I’m standing right now in Odisha and the Chief Minister honoured me.”
