Rich tributes paid to Biju Babu at his birthplace in Cuttack

 Rich tributes were paid to legendary leader Biju Patnaik on his 101st birth anniversary day at his birth place in Cuttack on Sunday.

Early in the morning, Athagarh legislature Ranedra Pratap Swain reached Biju Babu’s ancestral home ‘Anand Bhawan’ located at Tulasipur and paid tribute to Biju Babu by garlanding his photograph. Later, Swain took out a walkathon of senior citizens from Anand Bhawan and covered Gadakhai of Barabati Forte in the memory of the legendary leader.

Commemorating the birth anniversary of Biju Babu, Barabati-Cuttack legislature Debasis Samantaray too organized a bike rally in the city. The motorcycle rally which was taken out from Gauri Shankar Park reached Anand Bhawan where Samantaray and his supporters paid tribute to departed leader.
Choudwar-Cuttack legislature Prabhat Biswal who paid tribute to Biju Babu by garlanding his statue at Jobra Barrage square at about 9.30 AM had distributed fruits to patients on the premises of SCB Medical College and Hospital. Later he also organized a public meeting at Potapokhari ground commemorating the birth anniversary of the son of the soil. Among others, Cuttack MP Bhatruhari Mahatab, School and Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra and CMC Mayor Minakshi Behera were also present the meeting.
Besides, on this occasion, people from different walks of life too visited Biju Babu’s birth place Anand Bhawan which is going to be rechristened as Biju Patnaik Museum by the Culture department. The Biju Patnaik Museum will be opened to public as part of the legendary leader’s birth centenary celebration.
