Odisha boy Mohan Sethy to get Bravery Award

Odisha boy Mohan Sethy is among twenty five children -- 12 girls and 13 boys—who have been selected for the National Bravery Awards – 2016.

The children will receive their awards from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 23 ahead of the Republic Day and thereafter will participate in the parade.

The awardees will be presented a medal, certificate and cash.

These children will also be felicitated by President Pranab Mukherjee and several other dignitaries while several states will organize functions to honour them at state level.

Notably, the National Bravery Award Scheme was initiated by the ICCW to give due recognition to the children who distinguish themselves by performing outstanding deeds of bravery and meritorious service and to inspire other children to emulate their example.

Four of the awards this year have been given posthumously.
