Govt fast tracks construction of IT incubation center at Infocity




 Carrying forward its initiative towards creating IT infrastructure in the State, State government today fast tracked construction of IT incubation center at Infocity here.

Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi reviewed the progress of the Rs 170 crore Twin Tower project during a Project Approval Committee Meeting at State Secretariat here, said official sources.

IDCO is funding it from its own resources, said the sources.

Notably, the project is being built in the IT & ITES SEZ of Infocity in Chandaka area of Bhubaneswar. The basement and the ground floor of the towers have since been constructed on 2.39 acre, the sources added.

Tower-A will have Ground + l4 floors while Tower-B will have G+l2 floors to house the incubation center of various departments.

It is expected that a number of IT and ITES companies, who have expressed their investment intention in Odisha, will utilize this infrastructure as a readymade of?ce set up for starting their projects, the sources said adding the tower has been designed keeping in view the need of both big and small IT & ITES companies along with the start ups in this sector.

Development Commissioner R Balakrishnan, Principal Secretary Industry Sanjeeb Chopra along with other senior officers from the departments of Public Enterprise, Finance and Industry participated in the review, the sources added.
